If your driveshaft has lubrication fittings (Zerk fittings), it is important to lubricate them at regular intervals. Use a good quality E.P. (Extreme Pressure) grease meeting N.L.G.I grade 2 specification. Grease must have an operating range of +325°F/+163°C to -10°F/-23°C.
  • Slip Yoke Service: The slip yoke is another important component of the driveshaft that may have a zerk fitting for lubrication. Some slip yokes may be lubricated from the transmission and do not have an external lubrication point. Ensure that the slip yoke is properly lubricated.
  • Regular Inspection: It is recommended to inspect the driveshaft regularly for any signs of wear, damage, or loose components. Pay attention to the joints, connections, and bolts. If any component allows the driveshaft to wobble, severe vibration, abnormal noises, or even major damage can occur.
